Wars are a TEAM event. We face tougher and better organized clans every war. If we work together as a team, we will win. That means EVERYONE must follow the war plan, use both attacks as assigned, use their strongest strategy as indicated and attack on schedule! Anything less and we will lose.
General War Strategy
Unless otherwise indicated in clan mail, the following strategy is to be used in war.
The general strategy involves members using their strongest attack and their discretion to select from a range of suitable targets. This range is based on the strength of their army and is outlined in the table lower down on this page.
First attacks are against tough opponents and are used to reveal information about the base and get as many stars as possible - getting three stars is still the goal, but is less important on first attacks. Don't attack a base someone else has already attacked unless all bases at your own town hall level have already been three-starred.
Second attacks are against easier opponents and are generally for clean-up which means attacking a base already attacked but not yet three-starred. The absolute objective of your second attack is to get three stars so be sure to pick a target ranked low enough to ensure complete destruction! It is these second attacks where three-starring is key to winning the war. If there are no targets available at your town hall level or lower, OR you believe you can't three star any available targets, ask a Co-Leader who to attack and what strategy to use. You will likely be asked to "scout" a base to identify traps, teslas and CC troops on behalf of another member who will attempt the three-star attack after. Therefore, you may be asked to use a specific strategy, either ground or air in order to reveal the best information.
Wars are divided into two phases. Phase 1 takes place from the start of war and lasts for 14 hours. Phase 2 is the final 10 hours of war. If you are a TH7 or lower it is critical that you get BOTH attacks completed early in Phase 1 (the first 4 hours is best), or there may be not be any good targets for you and so the higher ranked players can use their attacks against the tougher bases.
General Target Assignments
Use the following table to determine which attack strategy is your strongest, who you should target and when you should use your attacks. Find the strongest troop you have on the table (stronger troops are listed at the top and get weaker moving down the table) to determine.
At TH9 and above, most players will have several attack strategies that can be used (GoLaLoon, Surgical GoHo, DragLoon, GoVaLo). Therefore, use your discretion based on the target and your own personal attack skills to choose the best strategy. At TH8 and lower, strong attack strategies are limited and you must use the one listed in the table below. There are some exceptions for TH8 players (GoVaLo and GoVaHo) but you need approval from a Co-Leader to use those attacks.
Lastly, DO NOT ATTACK an enemy at a higher war-map rank than yourself unless you first clear it with a Co-leader!
Overall, if in doubt as to who to attack, when to attack or what strategy to use, ASK A CO-LEADER.

Approved Individual Attack Strategies
In this clan it is required that you use our approved strategies. The strategies we use against each Town Hall level are listed below. These are the strategies that are proven to have the highest chance of 3 starring an enemy. If executed well with the correct troops and spells against the ideal bases, they WILL 3 star an enemy more often than any other strategy.
TH3 and TH4 - Any ground based strategy will work (such as Barch) if you lure and kill CC troops at the start of the attack and bring max hogs in your own clan castle. If you don't lure and kill the CC troops first, your attack will fail!
TH5 and TH6 - BarchLoon is the strongest and most reliable strategy at this level. GiWiHe (Giant, Wizard, Healer) does not work on most bases!!!
TH7 - Dragon variations (DragLoon is most powerful followed by DragHog then Mass dragon)
TH8 - HoWi and Dragon based strategies (DragHog and DragLoon) are the strongest against most bases. Sometimes other hog variations (GoHo and Surgical GoHo) and valkyrie based attacks (GoVaLo and GoVaHo) will also work well but they are for very specific bases. Lastly, GoWiPe can be used on request from a Co-leader to scout a TH9 or TH10 base on behalf of another player.
TH9 & TH10 - GoLaLoon is generally the strongest and most effective strategy in the game today for attacking TH9 (and even TH10). Other approved strategies are GoHo, Surgical GoHo, Dragons, PentaLoon, and GoVaLo. Each of those attacks is base specific so you must use the right strategy on the right base. HoWi and GoWi variations (GoWipe, GoWiWi, GoWiWiPe) DO NOT WORK at this level! GoWi variations are only to be used in very specific situations as indicated by clan leadership.
